Workshop & Event Participant Waiver & Disclaimer
At ImPerfect, we aim to create safe, inclusive, supportive and respectful spaces for people attending our workshops, events, online sessions, wellbeing activities and community experiences.
This page outlines important information for participants before attending or taking part in an ImPerfect activity.
Purpose of ImPerfect Activities
ImPerfect workshops and events are designed to support wellbeing education, reflection, creativity, personal development and connection.
Our activities may include topics such as stress, burnout, confidence, boundaries, emotional wellbeing, self-reflection, personal growth and life challenges.
ImPerfect activities are not a substitute for therapy, counselling, clinical mental health support, medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or crisis intervention.
Participant Responsibility
By attending an ImPerfect workshop, event or online session, participants are responsible for:
-
deciding whether the activity is suitable for them
-
taking breaks if they feel overwhelmed
-
choosing what they do or do not wish to share
-
joining online sessions from a safe and private space where possible
-
informing ImPerfect of any accessibility or support needs in advance where possible
-
seeking appropriate professional support if needed
Participants are not required to share personal information or take part in any discussion or activity that feels uncomfortable.
Emotional Wellbeing
Some activities may involve reflection or discussion around personal wellbeing, stress, burnout or life experiences. This may bring up emotions or difficult thoughts for some participants.
If a participant feels distressed during or after a session, they are encouraged to pause, take a break and seek appropriate support.
If someone feels unable to keep themselves safe, believes another person is at immediate risk, or is in immediate danger, they should call 999 or go to A&E.
ImPerfect is not a crisis service.
Confidentiality in Group Settings
We ask all participants to respect each other’s privacy and not share personal stories, names or identifying details outside the session.
However, confidentiality cannot be fully guaranteed in a group setting, especially during online or community activities.
ImPerfect may need to share information with appropriate services or professionals if there is a serious concern about someone’s safety or the safety of another person.
Safeguarding and Safety
ImPerfect takes safeguarding and participant safety seriously.
If a safeguarding concern arises, ImPerfect may take appropriate action in line with its Safeguarding & Participant Safety Policy.
This may include signposting to support, recording the concern, contacting emergency services, or contacting relevant safeguarding services where necessary.

For online workshops or events, participants are encouraged to:
-
join from a private and safe space where possible
-
use their preferred display name
-
keep personal information private unless they choose to share it
